Introduction of the workshop:
– Dealing with death and end-of-life care is an integral part of our work as healthcare providers. How do we discuss end-of-life care with patients’ cultural and social context in mind?
– Our workshop will feature a 20-minute presentation by Dr. Amrish Joshi, palliative care physician at Richmond Hospital and Lara Musa, Regional Clinical Educator. They have conducted research on increasing cultural knowledge and sensitivity in palliative care services. They will share the findings of a qualitative study on Advanced Care Planning in South Asian communities.
