New Anti-Racism in Health Professions Education Modules for PGME Residents, Fellows and Faculty
The Anti-Racism in UBC Health Professions Education modules, developed specifically for PGME Residents, Fellows, and Faculty, are now being launched.
New CanERA institutional accreditation standards expect that all involved in residency education – including residents, fellows, program leaders, faculty/teachers and staff – have access to and engage in anti-racism training. With this in mind, these modules were designed in collaboration with the Office of Respectful Environments, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (REDI) and the Office of Faculty Development to foster meaningful engagement with anti-racism principles in healthcare education.
It is highly recommended that all UBC Residents, Fellows and Faculty complete these modules to grow in their capacity to address interpersonal and systemic racism in the learning environment. All UBC postgraduate education programs are required to have anti-racism education integrated into their program, and we strongly encourage that all programs to incorporate these modules into their Resident and Faculty development curriculum.
