The Cancer Diagnosis and Management Pathways project at Richmond Hospital brought together multiple departments (Family Practice, Emergency Medicine, Medicine – Respirology and Oncology, Medical Imaging and Pathology) to improve the speed and quality of patient care delivery in the areas of breast, GU and lung cancers. Successes have included the establishment of monthly multidisciplinary breast and GU oncology rounds, as well as engaging stakeholders in taking concrete steps to reduce time for diagnosis and treatment of suspected lung cancer.
