“With over 70% of inpatients who are 70+ years and over, there is a need for high quality, wrap around, evidence-based medical and psychiatric care,” reports Jodi Kortje, Director of Critical Care, Emergency and Medicine Services and the project’s Executive Sponsor.

The 35-bed unit came together October 2018 after 6 months of careful planning and engagement with multiple physician departments, nursing, mental health services, allied health, pharmacy and professional practice.

Jodi informs, “Many lessons learned have informed how we move forward for this project and other projects.”
