In the early morning of June 12th, 29 RH physicians from various departments gathered with all 7 of VCH-Richmond’s senior leaders to talk and listen to each other in a world cafe style format. Pictured above L to R: Dr. Don Griesdale (Associate VP Medicine, Quality and Safety), Dr. Chad Kim Sing (Associate VP Medicine, Quality and Safety), Dr. Nancy Austin (Interim Co-Senior Medical Director), Vivian Eliopoulos (VP Vancouver-Richmond Acute), Dr. Dean Chittock (VP Medicine, Quality and Safety), Dr. Keri Ruthe (RHPS Executive member and event MC), Dr. Aleco Alexiadis (Interim Co-Senior Medical Director) and Laura Case (VP Vancouver-Richmond Community).
The appetite for dialogue was apparent and the leaders listened (even giving out their cell phone numbers!). Perhaps the biggest complaint was that there was just not enough time. This was a first step… hopefully of many to come. The desire is strong to keep the momentum going and bring physicians into the fold of engagement and decision-making. Stay tuned for updates and next steps!

“I’m happy I went, I got a lot out of it and met the VPs I hadn’t met yet, like Laura, Dean and Chad. It was nice to see there were other physicians and their energy and optimism for the future. I can tell the leadership really wants to help us improve, we have an opportunity here. I want to encourage other physicians to go to the next one.” ~ Dr. Fran Mondor
